Some of you may know that one of my favourite designers is Youssef Hasbani, owner of L'Atelier downtown Toronto. His "Atelier" is a fine antique and decorative arts mecca for most of design savyy people in Toronto and the rest of Canada and the US. His store evolves all the time, and holds different vignette everytime I walk in. There is great music, great scented candles, and its visually almost orgasmic! please go, its on 1224 Younge St, 416-966-0200. Youssef is so incredible at making an interior harmonious combining gilded 19th century 6 ft high bloackamoors, 1930's murano's chandelier, furniture from Gio Ponti. You name it!...His work reminds me of Arthur E. Smith from the 70's-80's!
Here is his personal retreat, although I'm sure its changed quite a bit since the publication of this Canadian House and Home in 2004..
Enjoy:)
ps: and if you're readin this Youssef: Je te venere!!!
