Powder rooms galore

  LonnyMag

The ones that know me know that I'm a sucker for fabulously flashy powder rooms! its been said before, but that truly the one room you can go completely wild. its small, seperated from the rest of the house, and meant to be for small stops for you guests and yourselves! Here are a few I pulled together to illustrate. One of my project includes a railroad stripe in Pelt and Pointing by Farrow and Ball that I cannot wait to post. My client collects whimsical fishes made of pottery of all sizes. I thought putting the dark ones on the light stripe and the light ones on the dark stripe would make them stand out. This should happen this month. Another client of mine agreed to go "Singapoure Coral" by PARA. A deep coral that looks amazing with deep lavender towels.. Also, cannot wait to show images.. In the meantime, have some fun with wallpaper, tiling, and a new vanity. Some can be found in big box store at reasonable prices!

Enjoy!

Happy Chinese New Year!

I'm dedicating this posting to all of my Chinese friends and followers! Happy New Year:).. I thought I would post a few pictures of my latest Chinoiserie finds, some for my clients, and other for myself! I'm not sure how many times i have heard it, but people have often told me they didnt like anything "Asian" in their home. It always struck me as odd, since this is the very style that has infused intself into our home without Europe or North America even knowing it! What about all the Buddha heads out there? What about the Chinese jars? Garden stools? Anyway, the very people who were always opposed to it were the ones that ultimatelly fell madly in love for it! Enjoy!

Chinoiserie entrance (note the wallpaper and rich red trims)

Again Chinoiserie marked by scenery wallapaper and chinese carbinetry

French throne chair with an asian elephant stool. Great addition to any room as it has so many shapes, it curves to anything around it!

Great chinese garden stool, readily availble. Great in bathrooms, or by a sofa!

Joyeux Noel and Bonne annee a tous!

Dear readers, I just realized that i may not have time to write into my blog till next year since i'm off to PEI on the 26th and coming back on the 1st. I'm planning on helping my mom revamp her home, and help out her beloved friend Myrna with choosing a paint scheme for her home. I must admit I'm truly addicted to blogging, and reading other people's blogs. There is no better media to pour your heart and soul into than this one. So here are some randoms photos that I have collected over the last few months of some of my favourite interiors, vignettes, colour compositions.... have yourselves a safe and wonderful Christmas. Dont forget to give to others, and do at least one good deed during this holiday season. Love u all to bits:) XOXO

Highly unusual, mesh stairs!

I love the wall adjacent to the mini bar! Simple DIY at home.

I love all the repetition of patterns, which makes an interior successful, and harmonious.

Elle decor Showhome 2010, San francisco via Katie Did blog. I wish I had gone in person, maybe next year! I'm particularly fond of the vignette above. It reminds me of the Jesus Crown on Thorns like everyone who has seen it I'm sure. I like to bring religion elements as an artform into a home. Its very unexpected. We are used to seeing the Cross but thats it! I'm not particularly religious, but like that element because it symbolizes time, faith, and fidelity!

Photo courtesy: Martensen .. Delicious blend of chinoiserie & French provencial. Gorgeous palette, and unusual for a bedroom. Everything ties very nicely with the Asian decorative screen panelling.

Not a huge fan of camping, I was thinking maybe this year I could bring in the outdoors indoors. Fabulous creations though!!
